A Life of Service, Healing, and Compassion
“My journey into healing began long before I became a licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, and Medical Massage Practitioner, I was a caregiver.
My journey into healing began at the age of twelve.
As a child , I found myself helping care for family members who needed support, comfort, and compassion. While other children were focused on childhood activities, I was learning lessons that would shape the course of my life—how to sit beside someone who was hurting, how to listen without judgement, and how to provide comfort during difficult seasons.
Those early experiences planted seeds of what would later become my life’s purpose.
Over the next twenty-six years, I devoted my career to serving others throughout the healthcare community. I worked alongside seniors, individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, hospice patients—hospice care, veterans, assisting living communities, nursing homes, rehabilitation settings, medication administration, and families facing some of life’s most challenging moments.
Through those years, I learned something that no textbook can teach:
Healing is not always about fixing .
Sometimes healing is about presence.
Sometimes healing is about dignity.
Sometimes healing is about helping someone feel seen, heard, valued, and cared for.
One of the greatest influences on my journey was caring for my own mother. Watching her struggle circulation issues, vascular disease, surgeries—quadruple bypass, chronic kidney failure— dialysis, and ultimately hospice care gave me a deeply personal understanding of how physical health affects every aspect of a person’s life.
Those experiences changed me.
They strengthened my commitment to helping people find comfort, restoration, and hope through grace.
As my understanding of the body deepened, I discovered Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Medical Massage, and Intuitive Touch. What began as professional training of two quickly became a calling. I saw first hand how gentle, intentional —intuitive touch could support healing , reduce swelling, improve mobility, encourage circulation , and help individuals reconnect with their bodies during recovery.
One of the greatest honors of my career has serving families during hospice care and end-of life transitions.
During those sacred moments moments, I often assist families with the bathing and preparation of their love ones.
Throughout the years, I have learned that there is often one family member who is not yet ready to say goodbye—-release, a daughter, son, spouse, niece, nephew, or grandchild carrying the weight of love and grief.
When I sense that struggle, I gently invite them to participate.
I begin at the feet.
To me, the feet represent a life journey. They represent every step taken, every sacrifice made, every child raised, every challenge overcome, and every act of love given throughout a lifetime.
As family members gently bathe the feet of their love ones, something beautiful often happens. Tears become words. Grief becomes gratitude.Unspoken feelings are finally expressed.
“I love you.”
“Thank you.”
“You are a wonderful mother.”
“You took care of us all.”
“I’ll be fine.., I’ll be okay.”
In those moments healing begins.
I have witnessed families find peace through this simple act of service, dignity, and love. I have seen hearts soften and burdens lift as loved ones are released with honor rather than fear.
Those experiences continue to shape the way I care for every person that enters my treatment room.
Today, as a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, and Medical Massage Practitioner—-At Emerald Massage & Lymphatic Wellness & Emerald Mobile Recovery Care were built upon those same principles that guide me as a young caregiver:
Compassion.
Integrity.
Grace.
Presence.
Service.
My approach combines clinical knowledge, professional training, and something just as equally important—intuition.
Throughout my life, I have learned to trust the quiet awareness that comes from truly listening. While science and evidence-based care guide my practice, I also recognize that every individual carries a unique story. Sometimes healing requires more than a protocol. Sometimes it requires understanding the person behind the condition.
I believe wellness involves the whole person—body, mind, spirit, and emotional well-being.
Whether I am supporting a client recovering from surgery, helping someone manage lymphedema, working with a senior seeking greater mobility, or simply providing a peaceful space to rest and restore, my goal—heart remains the same:
To help each person feel cared for with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Emerald is more than a business.
It is a reflection of a lifelong commitment to serving others.
It is a place where healing is approached with both clinical excellence and human connection.
It is a continuation of a journey that began with a young girl who simply wanted to help.
and it remains my honor to walk alongside every client who entrusts me with a part of their healing journey.
With gratitude,
Serving others has never been my career——it has been my calling.
